Ardent Solar LLC was founded by Allen C. Huang, MS Eng., a Northwest area based entrepreneur. Allen is currently working and living in Redmond, Washington.
Allen received his Masters Degree in biomedical/electrical engineering from University of Texas at Austin. Having worked in a startup medical electronics company in Dallas Texas, Allen was hired by a Seattle-based cardiac equipment maker and moved to Northwest in 1993. The projects Allen has worked on at the Dallas-based company turned out to be a huge success, it tremendously helped cardiac catheter labs in small to middle scale hospitals, especially rural area around US. Starting as electronics software design engineers, Allen has broadened his skill set into commercial software development. Designed and developed with co-workers, a medical information system was widely used in clinics around country. Once Allen went for a routine health-checkup in a local clinic, he was pleasantly surprised to discover the medical system recording his medical records by doctor was the one developed by him and other co-workers.
Prior to venturing into solar PV business, Allen has marketed successfully a cost effective line of auto darkening welding helmet. Before widely marketing and selling the helmets, Allen has exercised his due diligence by thoroughly checking and testing the welding helmets by himself and his professional welder friend in real welding applications. Allen even improved the helmet’s usability by designing the instruction labels and hiring professional technical writer to rewrite the operator’s manual. In order to validate his designs, he has invited his Entrepreneur Training classmates to test various versions, and optimizing on the best one. This line of welding helmet provides an excellent alternative source for American welders from naval ship yard to community college students, from West coast to East coast, from welding supply stores in Washington to Louisiana.
Allen was born and raised by engineer parents in Kunming, China, where the famous Flying Tigers story, American AVG in WWII has taken place. Graduated the top of the grade of high school, Allen was admitted to Zhejiang University in Hangzhou. After the re-establishment of formal diplomatic relationship between US and China, Allen’s family received a lump sum payment of pension and Social Security from US government to his late grandfather, Jonathan Huang. He had been loyally and diligently servicing at US Consulate General in Kunming for his life time. With a BSEE degree from a top Chinese university and family fund, Allen was able to come to University of Texas at Austin to pursue his advanced degree.
Today, Allen wants to continue the spirit of service of his late grandfather by providing cost effective Solar PV Power solutions to fellow American people. He wants to provide a complete line of products, from Solar PV modules, solar inverters, and racking systems to installation services. People will get a turnkey solution from Ardent Solar LLC.
